Remarkables Primary School, Queenstown

Remarkables primary school is a leading edge education facility for approximately 500 students, and the first new state primary school to be built in the lower south island since 1981. AES offered a professional design service on this project including facilitation of acoustic criteria, value engineering, building acoustics design and advice, consultation with key stakeholders including the Ministry of Education, contract administration and observation, and verification measurements.
As the school is directly under the flight path of Queenstown International Airport, careful consideration had to taken to prevent the intrusion of aircraft noise into classrooms and other areas.
