Christchurch Civic Building

AES is pleased to have been involved with the Christchurch Civic Building which has achieved a 6 Green Star Office Design rating, with the highest ever score achieved by an office building in New Zealand.

The Building is the new premises for the Christchurch City Council, and is an extensive refurbishment of an existing building which was originally a New Zealand Post facility. One of the project’s primary objectives was offering an improved working environment for staff.

AES provided design services, advice, and verification testing on all aspects of the project relating to acoustics; from ensuring that noise from the innovative tri-generation system and other mechanical plant complied with City Plan noise limits, to designing and testing internal spaces and wall systems to meet Green Star and other acoustic criteria and provide privacy and comfort to occupants.
