Environmental Acoustics

We work with District Councils, Planners, Developers and Landscape Architects to predict and control the propagation of noise outdoors. We also work with a wide range of companies and individuals who are concerned with noise in the outdoor environment, or who are required by City or District Plans to consider the effects of the environmental noise generated by their activities.

The starting-point for this environmental work is often land use provisions which impose limits on the levels of environmental noise which can be generated.

This work may involve the consideration of the noise from industrial activities, external air-conditioning units, construction activities, traffic, function centres, sports stadiums, schools and bars.

If required AES can use state-of-the-art technology to predict the propagation of noise outdoors over complex terrain, and to design innovative solutions for the control of this noise.
