Building Acoustics
We work with Architects, Project Managers and other Engineers to design buildings which provide a pleasant acoustic environment for end users. We also work with the users of buildings with existing noise issues, to devise solutions to these problems
This work often involves the control of noise from voices, TVs and stereos, from people walking about and chairs scraping on floors, and from plumping, heating and air-conditioners. It may also be concerned with the noise which breaks-in to a building from the surrounding environment, or noise which breaks-out from a building and affects those around it.
Building acoustics also considers the acoustic design of specialist spaces within buildings such as home theatres, auditoriums, lecture theatres, exhibition halls, arenas, dining areas in restaurants, hospital wards, workshops and chapels.
